DY Can Koozie

It's Sunday Funday!!
I hope you found something fun to do this weekend! I had such a refreshing weekend full of FaceTime calls with friends, crafts, and an excessive amount of pizza! No complaints here. MN is starting to open stores tomorrow but I'll still be working from home and probably remaining indoors for a while, just to be safe. Luckily Michaels craft store has curbside pickup!
Here's a tutorial for a can koozie I made recently. Some of you may think I've lost my mind (LOL) but I think it turned out pretty cute! I have wanted to do a "craft beer" DIY since I first heard the phrase so read on if you find a little humor in this post!

Supplies
  • Foam - You'll just need a piece big enough to fit around a can of beer
  • Letters - Use whatever kind of letters you have (stickers, foam, etc) or cut out your own!
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Pen/Pencil - For tracing the can
  • Scissors
  • Pipe Cleaners/Other Decorations - I ended up not using these but be as creative as you want!

Step One: Loosely roll the foam around your can of beer. Cut off the excess foam from the top and bottom so that your can will be covered but you will have room at the top for drinking out of it.

Step Two: After making sure your can is able to move up and down, hot glue the sides together. Hold the foam for a few seconds to fully adhere.

Step Three: After your hot glue is dry, trace the bottom of your koozie onto a free piece of foam and cut out. Use the hot glue to attach this under your can, trimming off any excess foam.

Step Four: Adhere your letters and decorations onto the koozie! Make sure to use a good amount of glue and hold each piece until it's stuck. Since you will be holding this DIY, you want to make nothing will fall off!
Let dry and enjoy using this DIY at all of the summer  barbecues, however those may look this year!!

I hope you have a crafty week!!

XOXO, Karly
