DIY Hair Clip Valentines

Happy Weekend!!
I've spent the last couple of weeks thinking up non-candy valentines and I'm super excited about today's post! I recently cut my hair and my go-to high pony tail look is no longer complete without a handful of bobby pins. I decided to jazz some up for the upcoming holiday and I made a printable template to pass out as Valentines!

Supplies:
  • Hair Clip Valentines Printable
  • Wooden Hearts - I bought these from Michaels
  • Bobby Pins
  • Acrylic Paint - I used red and pink paint from Target
  • Paint Marker - I swapped the red and pink pens below for a white, medium point paint marker
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Scissors

Step One: Print off the free printable template onto white card stock and cut along the outer line. Cut little notches onto the edge of the printable, making sure to leave enough space between the hearts.

Step Two: Paint the edges of the wooden hearts with one coat of paint. Let dry for a few minutes before painting the front of the hearts. I used two coats of paint for the hearts!

Step Three: Follow the directions on your paint pen and draw the ribbon onto the painted hearts. Draw two perpendicular lines and a bow where the lines intersect! Set aside and let dry.

Step Four: Hot glue the hearts to one end of the bobby pins. If you glue them to open end, make sure to pull the two sides apart before letting the glue dry.
Remove any excess hot glue strings (my least fav part of hot glue) and slide onto the printable! Pass these out to your gals!

XOXO, Karly
