DIY Beach Ball Bookmarks

Hello DIY-ers!!
I received so many positive responses from my DIY Beach Ball Earrings that I wanted to make another beach ball DIY while we've still got some summertime left! I joined a book club a couple of months ago and I'm finally starting to read books again! I've always loved reading but just have not been prioritizing it now that I'm out of school and working full time! Even if you aren't an avid reader, this DIY is still for you! These DIY Beach Ball Bookmarks are perfect for the next time you pull out your book by the pool or when you pack a beach read to go on vacation!
Full tutorial below:

Supplies:
  • Mini Styrofoam Foam Balls - I bought this pack of 1.5" styrofoam balls from Michaels!
  • Acrylic Paint - I chose bright shades of yellow, blue, and pink
  • Paint Brush
  • Jumbo Paper Clips - Forgot to switch out the earrings for the paper clips in this picture so just pretend they are in the picture! eI used the white paper clips in this pack this pack from the Dollar Store!
  • Hot Glue Gun - Optional

Step One: Start with your lightest paint color. Make a dot on the top and the bottom of the foam ball. Connect the two dots with a line of paint. Create a thicker line in the middle, keeping the two ends thin, until you've created a beach ball stripe. Once the paint has dried, repeat this step with the other two colors.

Step Two: Add a second coat of paint to each color and let dry. Insert the paperclip into the bottom of the foam ball; add a dot of hot glue before inserting for an extra secure hold.
