DIY Olympic Medals!

Happy Thursday!
I'm sharing a super easy DIY to go along with the Olympic Themed Bachelorette Party post I just shared! For more party details, click here!!

Supplies:
  • Wooden Discs - From Michaels
  • Thick Striped Ribbon - You'll need 34" of ribbon per medal! I was able to make 4 medals out of each of these striped ribbon spools from Michaels.
  • Gold Spray Paint
  • Silver Spray Paint
  • Hot Glue
  • Staples

Step One: Cut 34" strips of ribbon for as many medals as you're making. I cut the ribbon ends at an angle but you won't see the ends of the ribbon from the front of the medal so this is up to you!

Step Two: Staple the two ribbon ends together so that the ribbon will fit over someone's head! I made sure all of my ribbon was stapled the same way (right over left) so that all of the medals would look the same. Hot glue the ribbon together to give it extra support.

Step Three: Spray paint half of the wooden discs gold, half silver, on both sides of each disc. I used two coats of paint on each side.
Once the discs are dry, hot glue the back of the medal to the ribbon - I had the smooth side of the staple facing out, just in case it were to come loose.

Don't forget to take photos with the medals! Use the hashtag #KPApreps and tag me so I can see them!

XOXO, Karly
