DIY Pizza Party Costume

Happy Friday! It's me again coming at you with another costume!
This is the ultimate throwback to one of my favorite parts of elementary school... a DIY Pizza Party Costume!! Do you remember these?! I looked forward to the days when our teacher would order us a few pizzas and a couple of 2-liter bottles of pop! Oh, how easily we were entertained... LOL
Check out the tutorial below to see how to accomplish this look!

  • Anagram Pizza Balloon - This is the cutest way to complete the look
  • Pizza T-Shirt - Supplies Below
  • Yellow T-Shirt
  • Green and Red Foam Paper - I used 1 piece of each for the shirt (you'll need a second piece of red for the hat)
  • Circular Bowl - Or something circular to make the pepperonis with!
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Pen/Pencil
  • Pizza Party Hat - Scroll down past the t-shirt tutorial for supplies list & tutorial!

Step One: Trace your bowl (or large, circular object) onto the red foam paper. I was able to trace four circles onto one piece of paper. Cut these "pepperonis" out and set aside.

Step Two: Trace the ruler to make 3" x 1" strips out of the green foam paper. Cut 4 - 6 out of the paper and cut the ends at an angle.
Hot glue these red and green foam pieces to the front of your yellow shirt and follow the tutorial below for the party hat DIY!

Party Hat Tutorial:

  • Foam Paper - Yellow, red, and green - you can use the leftover green from the t-shirt tutorial
  • Headband - I found this at Walmart, but crafts stores also sell plain headbands
  • Cup or small bowl - for the pepperoni
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Pen/Pencil
  • Clear Tape

Step One: Twist the yellow foam paper into a cone (party hat shape). Hot glue the pieces of foam together (on the inside of the paper) so it will stay. Note - the bottom of the paper will be uneven, so cut this down to size the party hat how you like it.

Step Two: Trace your cup onto the red foam paper and cut out. I used four of these "pepperonis" to decorate my party hat!

Step Three: Create a 3" x 1" strip out of the green foam paper (like in the pizza shirt DIY). Cut this in half (so it will be 1.5" x 1") and cut three strips out of each section to match the green pieces below. Remember to cut the ends at an angle.

Step Four: Hot glue the red and green foam onto the party hat cone to resemble a pizza! Hot glue the headband to the bottom of cone, making sure it will fit on your head first!

I hope all of you pizza lovers enjoyed this DIY!!
I have a couple more DIY Halloween costumes coming, so stay tuned!!

XOXO, Karly
