DIY Fruit Slice Clutch!

Happy Weekend!!
If you are looking for a super cute and easy DIY, you found it! I've been busy making colorful projects that are perfect for spring and summer! I love turning an ordinary object into something completely different! Like this place mat I used to make a DIY Fruit Slice Clutch!

Supplies
  • Round Place mat - I found 15" placements at Target!
  • Zipper - I used a 14" white zipper from Walmart
  • Foam Paper - Bright green paper from Michaels for the lime!
  • Ruler
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Permanent Marker
  • Pencil

Step One: Purchase your supplies and cut your place mat in half. I did this by finding the halfway point and making a dot with my permanent marker. I put the edge of the foam at the bottom of the place mat so I could make even dots all the way across.

Step Two: Hot glue your zipper onto the place mat. Turn one half of your place mat front side down (AKA the side of your clutch you want facing outside). Glue your zipper so the zipper side is facing down - pictures below! Repeat this step and glue to the other side of the place mat.

Step Three: Hot glue the outsides of the place mat together to create a semi-circle clutch! Use a lot of hot glue to make your clutch strong!

Step Four: Trace the semi-circle clutch onto the foam paper. Cut out foam slightly smaller than the clutch.

Step Five: Mark the middle of the foam with a pencil. Draw a straight line down to the bottom of the foam paper. Divide the two sections into 3 even triangles. Cut out the sections and round the bottom triangle corners for a finished look. Hot glue to the place mat to complete your fruit slice clutch!

Enjoy your new DIY purse - perfect for the summer!!

XOXO, Karly
