DIY Travel Water Bottle

Hello DIY Darlings!!
I hope everyone is having a successful 2018 so far! Still having a hard time believing we're almost into February...
I made this DIY as a motivator for my New Year's resolution(s) which just happen to be: workout 5 days a week and drink more water!! So far so good but I still have quite a few more days to go [342 and counting].
Whether your NYE resolution is going well or you've missed a few days, get back to it!!
  • Glass Water Bottle - I recycled a VOSS water bottle
  • Foam Paper - Preferably not sticky on one side
  • Ribbon - Any kind/color ribbon. This is just for measuring purposes
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Marker
  • Ruler
  • Permanent Marker
  • Scissors

Step One: Purchase your supplies and wash and dry your water bottle. Measure the circumference of your water bottle using the ribbon. Cut your ribbon once inch longer than the circumference.

Step Two: Lay your ribbon across your foam and mark with your marker. Repeat this step at the top of the foam - depending on how high you want your foam holder to be.

Step Three: Cut out your foam by connecting the dots with your scissors. Make sure to leave an extra inch of foam -per your ribbon - so that the foam holder is easily removable.

Step Four: Trace the bottom of the water bottle onto the foam. Cut the circle out but leave about 1/4 - 1/2 inch extra.

Step Five: Using your ruler, line up your first word on the front of the foam - this will be the side without the black dots.
Move the ruler down after letters are placed to evenly space each word.

Step Six: Flip the foam so the letters are facing down. Hot glue a thick line down the left side of the foam and quickly (hot glue dries fast!) adhere to the right side of the foam. Make it loose enough so that you can remove for washing! See the three photos below.

Step Six: Hot glue the outside of the circle and adhere to the bottom of the foam cover. If there is extra foam around the bottom, carefully trim with your scissors.

I hope you enjoyed this DIY!! P.S. This bottle is dishwasher safe once you slide off the foam! :)

XOXO, Karly
