DIY Duck Duck Gray Duck Ornament!

Let's play some DUCK, DUCK, GRAY DUCK!!

So, this post may only mean something to the Minnesotans out there so to everyone else, I think you call this game duck, duck, goose?!

This was one of my favorite games as a kid! I was reminded of this during a Vikings game this season (hopefully I'm not the only one who saw this game) when the team played a quick round after a touch down!!

This ornament is the perfect addition to your Christmas tree and you'll only need 5 supplies to make your own DIY Duck Duck Gray Duck ornament!!

Supplies:
  • 3 Mini Rubber Ducks - I found these at Walmart!! You will have to buy 2 packs to get enough of the yellow ducks.
  • Gray Acrylic Paint - Spray paint would work too!
  • Paint Brush
  • Ornament Hooks
  • Hot Glue

Step One: Take one of your ducks and paint gray. Let dry and paint a second coat.

Step Two: Take one of the ornament hooks and fold in half. Twist the hook so the the ends come together but keep a space in the center between the two hooks (see picture).

Step Three: Hot glue the ornament hook to the top of the duck. Squeeze a generous amount of hot glue and set the wider part of the ornament in the hot glue. Hold the ornament hook completely still in the hot glue while it dries.
As hot glue dries quickly, you may need to repeat this step to get it right.

Step Four: Put the two ends of the ornament hook into the hole in the bottom of the duck above it. Hold the ornament hook still and hot glue to keep in place. If the bottom of your duck does not have a hole, place the ornament hook in the middle of the duck and hot glue.

Repeat steps 2-4 until you have three ducks in a row! Hot glue an ornament hook to the back of the top duck to hang onto the tree.

How cute are these little ducks?! I know I'll be smiling each year when I'm unwrapping ornaments and see this one!

This would also make a fun little addition to a friend's Christmas gift!

XOXO, Karly
