DIY Spooky Witches Cauldron

2 DAYS UNTIL HALLOWEEN!
This is the first year I have a house of my own and can pass candy out to all of the little trick-or-treaters!
I wanted to make this extra special witches cauldron to hold all of the candy!
Think any of the kids will understand the Justin Timberlake song reference??
Read on below to learn how to make your own!

Supplies:
  • Witches Cauldron - I bought this at Walmart but you can find them almost anywhere this time of year!
  • Letter Stickers - Any color will work! Make sure you have enough of each letter in your pack before you leave the store!
  • Spray Paint - Since you are painting over black, you will need a full 12 oz. can
  • Duct Tape - Masking tape works too!
  • Scissors
  • Box Cutter or Knife - This will make removing the letters much easier!!

Step One: Tape the inside of the cauldron so that paint doesn't end up in the inside.

Step Two: Spell out your phrase with letter stickers. Make sure to press these down firmly to ensure paint doesn't get under the stickers.

Step Three: Set up your spray painting station outside. Following the directions on your paint can, spray the entire cauldron. Since the cauldron is so light, it might work best to flip it onto the top or bottom while you paint. Let the paint dry for 10 minutes before adding a second coat. Repeat the first step and let dry completely for 20 minutes.

Step Four: Use the box cutter/knife to remove the stickers. If the paint starts to peel with the letter, carefully move the paint back into place and press down.

Recognize the little ghost in the picture above? Don't worry, he's friendly!

XOXO, Karly
