DIY Truffula Tree Pens

Happy First Week of September!
I hope everyone spent their last unofficial weekend of summer outside! It still feels weird for me to not be starting school the day after labor day but I am really loving the 'real world'.
I typically spend every evening after work either crafting or watching a movie. One of my favorites to watch before bed is The Lorax! Please tell me you've seen it. It's one of Dr. Seuss' cutest books (IMO)!!
If you've seen the movie, I have a feeling you will love this tutorial...
DIY Truffula Tree Pens!

Supplies
  • Pens
  • Pom Poms
  • Card Stock
  • Clear Tape
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun

Step One: Measure the length of your pen up to the point. Draw and cut out a rectangle about four times the width of your pen.

Step Two: Secure your rectangle to the pen with a piece of clear tape. Wrap the paper around your pen and pull tight before sealing with a piece of clear tape.

Step Three: Squeeze a thick dot of hot glue to the back of the pen. Place your pom pom onto the hot glue and hold for 10 seconds.
Repeat these steps for as many pens as you want to make!

I hope you enjoyed this colorful craft and if you haven't seen The Lorax movie, add it to your list! :)

XOXO, Karly
