DIY Pom Pom Earrings

Happy Sumer Solstice!!
I am currently freaking out because today is the first official day of summer and I am about to board a plane to one of my favorite places!!!
I've spent the last few days making some colorful DIY accessories to prepare for my vacation in Florida! One of my favorite projects is these DIY pom pom earrings! I love these because you can make them in any colors you want and they are super light weight! You can bet I'll be wearing these all week long! :)

Check out my step-by-step tutorial below!!

Supplies
Pom Poms
Sewing Needle
Plastic Thread - I purchased mine at Joann Fabrics!
Earring Posts
Earrings Backs
Hot Glue Gun
Scissors

Step One: Decide the order of your poms poms. The pom pom you start with (blue for me!) will be the one you attach to the earring post.
Thread your needle with your plastic thread - please note, I used black thread for the tutorial because the plastic thread is transparent!
Tie 2 or 3 secure knots where the two ends of your thread meet (opposite the needle). Push your needle through the center of the pom pom. Let it fall to the bottom of the thread onto the knots.

Step Two: Tie two knots at the bottom of your first pom pom. This is to ensure your pom poms will stay in place and won't clump together when you wear your earrings!

Step Three: Repeat the steps above with your second and third pom poms. Tie two knots below the second and third pom pom to keep them in place.

Step FouAfter your bottom knot is secure, cut off the excess thread from the bottom and top of your earrings.
Hot glue your top pom pom (the first one you attached) to the earring post.

How fun are these earrings?!
I hope you enjoyed this super easy [and colorful] DIY project!

XOXO, Karly
