DIY Party Confetti

Hello DIY-ers!!  I am so excited right now... in less than a week I will be throwing my 3rd annual JUMBO SLUMBO!! I will post all about the event next week but in case you're wondering what it is: it's a girls' night/adult sleepover with five of my closest girlfriends!! :)  I would highly recommend starting your own tradition similar to this one!  It's the one time of the year when we can take a break from our busy lives and take a trip down memory lane while enjoying the simple things we used to love.  We usually spend the entire night throwing it back and listening to 90s music while watching chick flicks [Mary Kate and Ashley movies] and playing MASH.  The past two years I have gone with a Lisa Frank theme but this year I am creating a Kate Spade inspired night by utilizing hot pink, gold, and black & white decorations.

One thing I make sure to include in every party (if possible) is CONFETTI!!  Who doesn't love confetti?!  Well, okay even I can admit that it makes a huge mess which is why I make my own easy clean up confetti! :)

Here is my easy step-by-step tutorial on how to create your own festive confetti!!

Free Confetti Template - I tried a few different sized circles so I made a template with what I found to be the perfect sized confetti!!  Click HERE for the free template.
Coordinating Card Stock in Fun Colors

Step 1: Purchase supplies.  I typically find most of my brightly colored card stock at Michaels.  I have been looking for black and white striped paper for years and finally found this roll at Joann Fabrics.  I, of course, had to stock up so you may be seeing a theme coming up in my DIY projects. ;)

Step 2: Print and cut out my free template (click HERE).  Trace the confetti circles on the backside of your paper so that you won't leave pencil marks!
Bonus points if you can read my pencil! ;)

Step 3: Cut out your confetti!! This step can be a bit time consuming but I was able to cut out 200 confetti in less time than it took to watch an episode of Gossip Girl (~45 min... I'm re-watching the first season for the 100th time)!!

Step 4: Display your confetti!! I love noticing the small details of parties and trust me, this will not go unnoticed!! This adds the perfect amount of flair and can be used anywhere!  I scattered mine on top of the tablecloth on the food table and tossed a little bit of it between the photo props.

I hope you enjoyed this DIY tutorial for the perfect confetti!  I know there are tools that cut perfect circles but it's sooo easy to cut it yourself and saves money that you can instead spend on party food!  I always splurge on the blueberry goat cheese from Costco!!  Anyone else have a favorite?
P.S. The XO bowl is from the Target Valentine's section!  I went a little crazy this year... luckily my favorite color is pink!!
Post your pictures and hashtag #KPApreps !!
